Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. As an Assistant QS, you will support the Commercial team in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in quantity surveying and gain valuable experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
  • Support the preparation and analysis of tender documents, including the review and comparison of contractor bids.
  • Help monitor project costs and assist with cost control and budgeting throughout the life of a project.
  • Assist in the preparation of interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
  • Conduct site visits to review work progress and ensure compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Assist with the management of subcontractors, including issuing and reviewing contracts, variations, and payments.
  • Help assess and prepare change orders and variations to contracts.
  • Assist with procurement activities, including identifying and sourcing materials, services, and contractors.
  • Help ensure that all contracts and documentation comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Commercial Manager in contract administration and resolving any issues or disputes.
  • Maintain accurate records and files for all project-related documents.

Key Requirements:

  • [0-2] years of experience in the construction industry, with some exposure to quantity surveying or related roles.
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, cost estimation, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop professionally in the field of Quantity Surveying.
